In the 1980's, our family embarked on our first houseboat trip, and it truly changed our lives forever. Observing seven young cousins enjoying each others company in the beautiful surroundings of Lake Roosevelt, we decided that we'd like to become part of a business that offered this unusual level of bonding to family and friends.

Fast foward to today: Both of our sons and all of the cousins have grown up, graduated from college and many have started their own families. Their lives as professionals as well as airline and Air Force pilots move at an amazing pace that takes them all over the world, but each summer everyone descends on Lake Roosevelt to slow down and enjoy each other's company. That vacation 20 years ago began a bond that will no doubt last a lifetime. This remarkable closeness among family encapsulates our motives for operating Dakota Columbia.
